Job Summary Long cycle sales developing and closing municipal recycling opportunity. Long cycle sales development, promotes, directs and closes municipal recycling opportunities in assigned territories. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. III. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory duties, but may occasionally act as a team lead. IV. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's Degree (Preferably in Engineering) or equivalent municipal sales work experience Preferred: Master's Degree (Preferably in Science, Social Science, Architecture) or MBA equivalent with a background in technical municipal sales. A good understanding or theoretical background in government processes, the municipal procurement environment is a plus. B. Other Requirements Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Proficiency in Access and MS Project a plus. Writing/acumen test may be required. Able to work in complex internal environments with more than one supervisor and multiple internal customers, as well as municipal customers. Travel up to 65% in own car and by plane. C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required Develop and write proposals, have strong writing and detail capabilities and work proforma calculations while still being creative and enjoying the hunt and sales process. Work occasional weekends. Advanced negotiation skills, bid preparation, contract management, profitability analysis, communication skills, and supervisory/management skills may be required. Compensation increases and success will be tied directly to new municipal tons and successful retention of existing municipal tons at profitable levels. D.
